DKC - Candy and Dixie Now this is probably going to sound unfair and sexist, but my only two problems with the DKC show are the only two female characters, Candy and Dixie. Now don't get me wrong, Dixie is one of my favourite characters out of all the DK games, and I missed Candy when she wasn't in DKC2 or 3, it's just that TV doesn't do them justice. One thing different about both of them is their hair - it's too short! Dixies long blond ponytail was her trademark, she just isn't Dixie without it! Candy's short hair is more acceptable, and I suppose it suits her better with the way she does her make up now-a-days, but I prefer the way she looked in DK64. I understand that animation of flowing objects such as hair, tails and baggy clothes is more difficult than the way they do arm and leg movements and stuff like opening doors, but that's not a good enough excuse for what they did to Dixie! Of course looks aren't everything, it's important how they get along with others on the island. In DKC, Candy was always kind and helpful, providing the most vital assistance - saving your game - for free. In the DKC TV show however, she seems to get irritated really easily, and it sometimes appears that she only goes out with DK because he is the future ruler of the island. Dixie is not like this thankfully, but she seems a lot different personality wise to how she was in DKC2 and 3. In the game she had a real adventurous spirit, embarking apon an epic quest with Diddy, her boyfriend. The two exploreduncharted regions of Crocodile Isle on their way to defeating K. Rool and rescuing Donkey Kong. Since then Dixie has lost some of her spunk, as in the show she is often depicted as a loner, with only her crustacean pets (which she often loses) to keep her company. As this suggests, Diddy pays less attention to her and it barely ever seems like they are boyfriend/girlfriend anymore. They made such a cute couple too :,( All in all I'm really glad that Candy and Dixie were included in the show, and Donkey Kong Country would certainly not have been the same if they weren't, but I can't help but think that their appearance and attitudes have changed too much. -Qyzzy Kong
